Best Tech for the Year

I’m going to be showing you some of my favorite tech that I like to use that to kick things off with the xbox elite wireless controller for the xbox one and its
control costs a hundred and fifty bucks so it’s definitely not cheap. But it’s not a controller that’s just made for the competitive gamer that you may think this controller that for me personally I like to use it because I will do like the game a lot i love to play my xbox a lot. So under control is going to be a little bit more comfortable than the stock control and this one does to live on that because it has a nice grippy service that’s going to be my head description of it but as a nice grippy surface on the back of it that makes it a little bit more comfortable and also to the thumbsticks are detachable so you can take them out and swap it with some other ones that come with this controller and the other was a little bit taller. I also have an option for a rounded thumbstick on one that’s a little bit more concave and then also to you can add some paddles on the back of this controller to have a little bit more customization that comes to your button layout. So you can attach some additional functions to these different panels but also they’re gonna be great for racing games and then you have a carrying case that you can use to store
all the additional pieces that you’re not going to be using but also to put your control and to keep it safe.

All these little things to add up is over all this controller has made my life a little bit easier when I’m gaming has made me a better game or per se but it’s definitely making my life a little bit more comfortable. The cables that come with Apple devices absolutely suck they have been sucking for a number of years now they usually start to fray around the tip and just don’t last at all. There are a number of different solutions you can go get a third party cable but over the years I’ve really had problems trying to find a very nice high quality cable that’s not totally gonna break the bank for something is going to be able to last for a long time is something that actually looks good and native union has a range of cables that they actually sent me to check out because they have a cable for almost every different situation that you’ll find yourself especially as a techy that i need and it sent be four different cables to handle for different situations now the first one is the belt cable which is just a regular standard cable that does have a nice little leather belt and you can basically wrap the cable in which is nice. At the next table tonight cable which solves the problem you’re trying to charge your phone and set it on a table or nightstand you have to go behind the table look for the cable because it fell off because it’s just too light for this camera has a nice little weight and not at the end of it. So when you place it down it’s going to stay there is going to be there waiting for you need to plug your phone and then the third one is a key cable is basically a cable that you can attach to your keychain and it has a little not on there as well to allow you to be able to hold on to your keys a little bit better. I’m basically you can just unplug it and the basic be a lightning cable just waiting there for you know you need to do is find a USB port or something to charge the phone at that point. The last one is there jump cable which is basically like a little emergency thirty percent battery that you can attach to your phone and so basically has the cable that you are wrapped from is all in a very small form factor a very small package you can just put in your pocket to put somewhere.

Basically you plug your phone into it you’ll get to around thirty percent of you know what model iphone that you have out let’s just enough to get you out of a bad situation. Those cables are made out of the double braided lion in line of thinking about DJ khaled lion but I’m is his cables that made out of double braided nylon so they don’t think I’d be able to take a beating and take some wear and tear before they go to break down on you. Also need the union was gracious enough to do a giveaway for all you guys and gals my viewers so you can click the link down the description i’ll take you to the giveaway and you will be able to have your chance to win off for these cables but over all these cables are light years ahead of the ones that are going to be getting from Apple’s so I definitely give them a thumbs up this cable to come in handy and exit line up of speakers that you may have heard of. These are the so no speakers that i’ve been using it for years now and everything you love these speakers because they are very easy wireless speaker setup at anybody can basically put together and then you’ll be able to control them using the app that you can download on your desktop or on your phone and you can basically choose to have individual songs going to individual speakers or you can have all the speakers playing the same thing at once. And so the play one is the smaller of all of them and it probably made for more like a bedroom setting but also you have the plate 3 which is kind of you know mid-sized like to have that in my office and then the plate 5 is something that’s a little bit bigger as i like to use that for my living room because it little bit more fuller sound and also just came out with a new version of the play five as well. Then also have the play bar which is a sound bar for my TV and that comes in handy because I like to fight parties for UFC fights and so I like to have the audio from the fight going through all my speakers throughout my place and I can do that with that I can have that TV audio going through all of my different speakers. This is a very easy surround sound setup that you can put together with these speakers as well outside we don’t have to talk too much about this because you probably already know everything about them already but I just really do like them they’re a little pricey they definitely don’t don’t come cheap but they have nice build quality but most importantly the sound from these things are fantastic and so you really can’t go wrong with us oh no speakers if you don’t mind paying that extra price for them anyway these are three of my favorite tech products that I use all the time.

Computer Case Airflow

We’ve talked about air flow before in terms of push versus pole for radios and past videos but it dawned on us that not everyone knows how airflow inside a case. It actually works it’s pretty hard to see exactly what happened since you know there is invisible. So we took it upon ourselves to show you love people what different types of airflow really look like showcase all of this we first start off with the case the Coursera 760 team. Why it’s the best case we have for showing you the airflow since it has a nice large window the fans we’ve chosen today are not choose a FF 12 and a 14 which are known for their excellent airflow and static pressure. Not exactly in that order though speaking of pressure there are two types inside a case positive and negative pressure. Let’s start off with positive first positive air pressure is when you have more air coming into the case then you do leaving it it’s known for being an excellent defense against dust.

But you will need a fan filter over every single area in take the idea is that by filtering all of your intakes only clean dustless air gets inside your case. Once inside hot air will pass the escape through any holes or gaps that are not filtered negative pressure of some you may have guessed. When you take more air out of the case then you put in some will argue that having a negative pressure setup will result in heat being exhausted out the system quicker. While this may be true in a negative setup it creates a vacuum effect where air will find its way through any gaps or holes in your case. This means that you have a higher chance of building up dust as dirty air can enter your case through the non filter holes or gaps. Let’s demonstrate some common setups for our first test will have to fans in the front as in takes cover up the top panel and have no exhaust fans this is an extreme example of positive air pressure and should leave you with the least amount of dust.

For the next set up we will have three fans on top and one fan as the rear as exhausts with zero intake fans this is an extreme example of negative air pressure and should give you the best possible cooling by removing the hot air from the case as fast as possible. Finally, the balanced set up with neutral air flow this means that you have an equal number of intake fans and exhaust fans this is probably the air flow configuration that most people have in their system. It’s pretty good at keeping both the dust out and experiment hot air and is the easiest to set up now no matter what sort of setup you think is good for your specific needs. Always remember you want call therein and hot air out the number one rule is to have a smooth direction for your airflow you don’t want conflicting fans that blow into each other creating turbulence that will create dead spots.

With no air flow and can lead to overheating components when you’re calculating the amount of intake and exhaust, you don’t forget to consider your CPU heatsink and video card. It may not look like it but large CPU heatsink with the fat on the back or blower style video cards will both at as exhausts. One last note for those of you who have trouble remembering which way your fan blows some fans have a little arrow pointing in the right direction or you can just remember that the flow goes towards the hub that’s pretty much the basics of air flow will be performing air flow test. On feature cases you’d like to see the air flow pattern form and he’s already working on using the fog machine with a radiator to compare push pull and push pull fan configurations so keep an eye out for more info.

Tips to Build Your Own PC 101

You know how I bruised my arm, I mean do you even need an intro anyway, I bruised my arm so we are today to give beginners a leg up when it comes to riding horse. In this is PC building 101 just the tips and you know which one you want, tips number one make sure to ground yourself as with all electronics static can cause problems with pcs so you want to ground out by touching something large and metal it has to be particularly large if it’s not plugged into a ground circuit in your house.

So the best one possible is to have a power supply nearby that is plugged into the wall but not powered on and grounding yourself on the casing anytime you move now so you want to be super safe using an anti-static strap on a cord that’s over to that particular power supply it means you can move around freely without worrying about static. Building up on your own and if you’re not working on a carpet you’re working on an anti-static floor mat that’s even better as well. One other tip is make sure that your motherboard isn’t going to get exact as well so put it down on something non conductive I actually recommend if you don’t have a commercially made test bench use the box that it came in will not conduct electricity.
Tip number two thermal paste most beginners are likely to stick with just the stock heatsink which is fine and there’s no harm in that when it comes to running at default speeds. Most of the time stock heatsink still have some sort of thermal paste pre-applied to the bottom but when you do need to apply thermal paste. Here’s a tip if you’re given a small tube of paste don’t use it all Jack learn this did you really Jack learned this the hard way when he was 17 many thermal pastes are a complete pain in the head to remove from small crevices without proper tools. Just in general so squeeze out a glob about the size of an uncooked grain of rice on something like an Intel core i7 LGA 1150 processor, If you have something a little bit bigger do about a cooked grain of rice but like a bit of a longer one kind of like God you know like a mega or so anyone know how big a maggot is.

Tip number three fan orientation now this may or may not be common knowledge but almost all fans will push out air towards the support braces and the fan hub in the middle the non-moving part. So if you spin it and there’s a part of the fan that’s not moving so that’s moving me when I touch it slows down. It’s not moving then that is the side that is blowing air away from now if that’s too hard then many fans not this one unfortunately will also have a little diagram. Malaysian things there we go arrows that show the direction the blades turn as well as the direction of air flow so you can actually check out one of NCIX tech tips other videos on air flow optimization. If you’re wondering whether fans should be all sucking air into your case or blowing air out of your case they’ve got a smoke machine that they used to kind of show you some tips and tricks for that tip number for magnetic tools my friends extremely helpful when you got a screwdriver and it doesn’t have a magnetic tip.

You’re going to have a bad time screws are going to fall off and then they’re going to get stuck in a memory slot and then you’re going to try and get them out of the memory slot you’re going to get them stuck in your nose. You’re going to go if only I had a magnetic screwdriver so I can hang out of my nose you’re going to feel a lot better about that if you don’t have a magnetic screwdriver arm. I don’t know kind of hold it on there and get frustrated and then go by magnetic screwdriver please it will not harm your components to have the not very powerful magnets that are in a screwdriver near them.

Tip number five installing memory this is such a common rookie mistake and it might seem like a no-brainer to the experience text out there but you’d be surprised how many beginners either have the wrong type of memory like ddr3 in a ddr4 board. Where the notch no matter how they orient it isn’t going to line up because they’re actually physically designed to not be possible to accidentally insert or flipping around the wrong way. Even though they have the right standard of memory and end up with like a crookedly installed piece of memory you guys are going to watch carefully for where the notches where the notches and socket and if you’re ever in doubt about the standard memory you’re using just check the manual for your motherboard.
